Flat Rock Animal Clinic
Flat Rock Animal Clinic was opened ten years ago by Dr. Shanavas Moideen.
Dr. Moideen has been a veterinarian for twenty years. He started out in the Detroit area, working for the Detroit Area Humane Society.
Dr. Moideen was inspired to open a clinic in Flat Rock, as there are not many Veterinary clinics in the area. Ten years later, he is happy he did. He spoke fondly of the community, stating his clients are such nice people.
Along with Dr. Moideen, there are three clinic assistants: Jennifer, Brandi and Stephanie. They too spoke of how nice the community was. Moreover, they really think highly of the Doctor, speaking specifically to how he has helped many animals. Recently, a cat was brought in for tear in his armpit; he has been working on the wound since November. Dr. Moideen has been housing the cat six days a week so it can fully heal, all free of charge. They spoke how the Doctor and office try to support the community as well. Dr. Moideen does all the veterinary serves for Flat Rock Animal Shelter. The clinic buys most of the product they can locally.
The Flat Rock Animal Shelter truly is a unique place. It is a full hospital, conducting all surgeries in house, as well as digital x-rays and dental cleaning.
Dr. Moideen and his staff are incredibly friendly and love animals. The staff even bring their animals to work! The Flat Rock Animal Clinic is truly a Flat Rock gem and serves as a one of the most inviting and caring animal clinics.

Flat Rock Our Hometown
The first Euro-American settlers in Flat Rock were Michael Vreeland and his five grown sons between 1811 and 1820. Michael had been captured by British Rangers during the Revolutionary War and released after American independence.
The family purchased 800 acres (3.2 km2). The town was called the Village of Vreeland until 1838 when the Vreeland family sold off the majority of the land and relinquished control of the area. The Vreeland families built the first grain and lumber mill, having brought the grinding stones from New York.
Descendants of Michael Vreeland still live in the town and attend Flat Rock public schools, being the seventh generation to reside in the town their family founded.
