2019 Flat Rock Riverfest

                                                             The 2019 Flat Rock Riverfest Held at HuRoc Park in Flat Rock, Mi.

Fall is just around the corner, so in the 2019 Flat Rock Riverfest at HuRoc Park. This year’s event will bring Lots of Music, Kids games and family Fun.  We will add the event schedules as they become available

ALSO,

SAVE THE DATE On saturday during Riverfest the 1st annual Flat Rock River Run take place.

There will be both a 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run at this event. The run starts on Sat. Sept 14th at 8AM at HuRoc Park.
Race proceeds will benefit the Simpson Middle School Swim Team as they prepare to host their first-ever home meets this fall. To register or get more info, Click Here.   You can also sign up at the Flat Rock Community Center.

2019 Summer Blast June 7th thru 9th

The 2019 Flat Rock Summer Blast will be here in a few weeks. This year it will be held June 7-9th at the beautiful HuRoc Park along the Huron River in Flat Rock, Michigan.

This is a FREE festival including FREE parking and open to the public, and fun for all ages!

In addition to the free entertainment throughout the park, the 2019 Ford Flat Rock Summer Blast also features

We are thrilled to announce Nashville country music sensation LUCAS HOGE will be performing at the 2019 Ford Flat Rock Summer Blast on Saturday, June 8th!

Lucas Hoge had a #1 Billboard Country Album sale chart with “Dirty South”, as well as hit song, “Power of Garth”. He is the Bass Pro/Cabela’s Ambassador, Southwest Airlines Ambassador and Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation and GSM Ambassador. Lucas also stars in the “Hoge Wild” TV series. Lucas will be taking the stage for a free concert on Saturday night at the 2019 Ford Flat Rock Summer Blast!

What’s Happening in Downtown Flat Rock in 2019

Flat Rock Our Hometown along with the Flat Rock DDA operate and sponsor events in the downtown and surrounding area.

Events for 2019 include;

  • The Fur Fest at HuRoc Park on May 18th,
  • Chalk the Walk at HuRoc Park on June 1st,
  • A Taste of Flat Rock in the downtown area on July 20th,
  • Spooktacular and Trunk or Treat in the downtown area on October 19th ,
  • Small Business Saturday on November 30th
  • Christmas Passport from November 1st to December 13th.

Other activates sponsored by the Flat Rock DDA are

  • Summer Blast June 7th-9that HuRoc Park,
  • Cruzin Flat Rock Car and Truck Show, June 8th on Arsenal Road at HuRoc Park

WELCOME TO FLAT ROCK

The first Euro-American settlers in Flat Rock were Michael Vreeland and his five grown sons between 1811 and 1820. Michael had been captured by British Rangers during the Revolutionary War and released after American independence.

The family purchased 800 acres (3.2 km2). The town was called the Village of Vreeland until 1838 when the Vreeland family sold off the majority of the land and relinquished control of the area. The Vreeland families built the first grain and lumber mill, having brought the grinding stones from New York.

Descendants of Michael Vreeland still live in the town and attend Flat Rock public schools, being the seventh generation to reside in the town their family founded.
