Food Truck Rally and Artisan Show July 15th

This year the Flat Rock DDA and Flat Rock Our Hometown are presenting the 2023 Food Truck Rally and Artisan Show.  This will take place at the Family Farm and Home Plaza on Telegraph Road in Flat Rock Saturday July 15th. The show runs from noon to 8pm.

There will be over 50 Artisans, crafters and food trucks and vendors.  Ther will also be a raffle, more information below.

Along with the crafts and food there will be music and you can even sit under our tent and enjoy your cool drinks, ice cream, food and check out all the cool things you purchased at the show.

Stop by and check out the food, crafts and music and talk to your neighbors.

There will also be LIVE performances from PKSA and Sherry’s School of Dance.

Flat Rock Riverfest 2022

This year’s Riverfest is scheduled for Friday September 16th and Saturday September 17th.

Here is the lineup for both days.

Duck Dash Tickets are available to purchase now at the Community Center, City Hall & any city sponsored events & will be available at the Riverfest up until the Dash begins (while ducks last).  Cash prizes for the first 3 ducks to cross the finish line.

WELCOME TO FLAT ROCK

The first Euro-American settlers in Flat Rock were Michael Vreeland and his five grown sons between 1811 and 1820. Michael had been captured by British Rangers during the Revolutionary War and released after American independence.

The family purchased 800 acres (3.2 km2). The town was called the Village of Vreeland until 1838 when the Vreeland family sold off the majority of the land and relinquished control of the area. The Vreeland families built the first grain and lumber mill, having brought the grinding stones from New York.

Descendants of Michael Vreeland still live in the town and attend Flat Rock public schools, being the seventh generation to reside in the town their family founded.
