The 2017 “Cruzin’ Flat Rock Car-Truck and Motorcycle Show” Date Announced

Spring is just around the corner which brings a New Season for outdoor events including the Cruzin’ Flat Rock Car Show. This year’s car show will once again be earlier and combined with the Flat Rock Summer Blast Event. This year’s show will bring more CAR, Truck and Motorcycle participants along with fans to your Family Friendly Event. The Cruzin’ Flat Rock Car show will be a one day event on Saturday June 10th from 9 AM to 3 PM. Registration will start at 8 AM. The cost will only be $5. Winners from previous Cruzin’ shows can get in FREE if you placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd Place. Winners MUST bring and display their Trophy during the show. If you are one of the first 100 registered participants you will get a Cruzin’ Flat Rock or Summer Blast t-shirt FREE. The Judged Class schedule and registration form for this year’s Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show is shown below. This year there will be CASH prizes and TROPHYS for Car, Truck and Motorcycle judged classes. We look forward to seeing you again this year at HuRoc Park for the 4th Annual Cruzin’ Flat Rock Car Show & Summer Blast.

WELCOME TO FLAT ROCK

The first Euro-American settlers in Flat Rock were Michael Vreeland and his five grown sons between 1811 and 1820. Michael had been captured by British Rangers during the Revolutionary War and released after American independence.

The family purchased 800 acres (3.2 km2). The town was called the Village of Vreeland until 1838 when the Vreeland family sold off the majority of the land and relinquished control of the area. The Vreeland families built the first grain and lumber mill, having brought the grinding stones from New York.

Descendants of Michael Vreeland still live in the town and attend Flat Rock public schools, being the seventh generation to reside in the town their family founded.
