Transportation Business supports community as a drop off point for “Toys for Tots” & A Chance To Win Lions Tickets

ON-DEKK, 26082 E Huron River Dr., Flat Rock, Mi. is a new business to Flat Rock and is a proudly a local drop off point for “Toys for Tots”. (Click her for more info on Toys for Tots )

On-Dekk Transportation LLC is an Expedited Transportation Company specializing in hot-shot, emergency and just in time freight. The business is owned and operated by Rob Bonello, a U.S. Army Veteran and life time resident of Downriver. On-Dekk operations 24/7 and has one part-time and eight full time employees. With over 75 company leased vehicles and access to a network of over 13,000 vehicles, On-Dekk Transportation can transport shipments from 1 lb. to 20,000 lbs. anywhere throughout the Continental U.S.

 

Rob said that On-Dekk Transportation originated in Woodhaven and they recently relocated to a building in Flat Rock previously owned by Michael A Bell & Associates (Attorney). Both structural and aesthetic improvements were made to visually enhance our new building prior to moving. We are excited to get active in the community and help grow the Downriver area.

This year On-Dekk Transportation is a drop point for “Toys for Tots“. Today through December 11th, they are collecting unwrapped toys for children birth to 12 years old. Toys can be dropped off at their office between the hours of 7am – 7pm. In addition NOW until 11/27/13,
anyone who drops off gifts for “Toys For Tots” will be entered into a drawing to win 2 THANKSGIVING DAY DETROIT LIONS TICKETS ($585.00 value).  These tickets are to see the Green Bay Packers play the Detroit Lions at Ford Field Thu. Nov 28, 2013 12:30 PM.  The tickets are in Section: Lower Level 125 Row 40.

The winner will be drawn @ 3:00pm Wednesday, the day before the game.

Rob is also able to support groups or associations with a large toy donation, they will schedule a truck to pickup and bring to collect your toys and get them to the local Marine collections area.

WELCOME TO FLAT ROCK

The first Euro-American settlers in Flat Rock were Michael Vreeland and his five grown sons between 1811 and 1820. Michael had been captured by British Rangers during the Revolutionary War and released after American independence.

The family purchased 800 acres (3.2 km2). The town was called the Village of Vreeland until 1838 when the Vreeland family sold off the majority of the land and relinquished control of the area. The Vreeland families built the first grain and lumber mill, having brought the grinding stones from New York.

Descendants of Michael Vreeland still live in the town and attend Flat Rock public schools, being the seventh generation to reside in the town their family founded.
