The Downtown Development Authority and the City of Flat Rock welcome Rite-On Auto Sales.

Rite On Auto Sales is located at 27508 Telegraph in Flat Rock and opened earlier this year.  Steve Salem, the business owner, said he is excited to be in Flat Rock.

Steve gives us a little history behind Rite-On Auto Sales.  “Since our beginnings in 2001, we have stayed strong in our commitment to the communities and people we work, live and play in.  Since our first location in Detroit, we have expanding to Ecorse, Jackson and most recently Flat Rock.”

“Along the way, the bonds we have made with other small business owners as well as citizens in the community have helped strengthen our ties and keep us rooted in the communities we serve.”

“When we were looking at Flat Rock and want to expand the business, the former Van Riper-Hall Chevrolet Dealership seemed the perfect fit.”

“We opened in Flat Rock early February of 2015 with the intent of revitalizing the building back into a dealership.”

“Flat Rock represents a sense of family and community we feel mirrors our own values and company mission.  Supporting local business helps build a strong sense of community and that is our goal.    We may be new to the area but our commitment is strong.  We are looking forward to many years here and becoming a part of the Flat Rock community not to mention the place to shop for a quality car at the right price.”

Thanks Steve for your business insight and choosing Flat Rock.

Steve and Rite On Auto are also bringing a Classic Car to the “Cruzin’ Flat Rock Weekend” on August 15th and 16th at HuRoc Park.

WELCOME TO FLAT ROCK

The first Euro-American settlers in Flat Rock were Michael Vreeland and his five grown sons between 1811 and 1820. Michael had been captured by British Rangers during the Revolutionary War and released after American independence.

The family purchased 800 acres (3.2 km2). The town was called the Village of Vreeland until 1838 when the Vreeland family sold off the majority of the land and relinquished control of the area. The Vreeland families built the first grain and lumber mill, having brought the grinding stones from New York.

Descendants of Michael Vreeland still live in the town and attend Flat Rock public schools, being the seventh generation to reside in the town their family founded.
