Flat Rock Our Hometown along with the Flat Rock DDA are once again presenting the Flat Rock Christmas Passport Program but with a new look and more prizes.

NEW LOOK for the Flat Rock Christmas Passport Booklet

This year we are back to the Original Flat Rock Christmas Passport Book with a new look.

This year the program will have a new look and will return to using the stamps as it did prior to COVID.

NEW this year:

ADDITIONAL CHANCES TO WIN!
Throughout the six (6) weeks that the Christmas Passport program runs, you shoppers will have a chance to win a $25 gift card. The weekly gift card is in addition to the Shopping Spree or Grand Prize drawings!  More information below.

Program Information.

  • Get a passport book from any participating Flat Rock business or pick one up at City Hall, the Library or the Flat Rock Community Center. Each passport page has 6 places in which to punch stamp.
  • All Flat Rock participating businesses will have books available near the cashier where you can take a one and receive a stamp from that business.
  • Once the business stamps your passport, you can take it with you to get your next stamp at that or another participating Flat Rock Business.
  • Turn the Passport in at the box located inside City Hall as soon as you complete it! This enters you into the weekly drawing for that week! You will still be eligible for all other prizes!
  • The program has starts on November 1st every year and this year’s ends on Friday December 15, 2023.

Note; Participating stores that have their kits may ask you if you would like to participate.

Flat Rock Passport Customer Rules and Information.

  • Look for the Flat Rock Our Hometown clock decal at local businesses.
  • A full list of participating businesses is available www.flatrockourhometown.com, www.downtownflatrock.com and the Facebook pages.
  • Visit local participating Flat Rock businesses and complete your stamps on forms in the passport book.
  • You must have stamps from at least three (3) different businesses punches on each passport card (i.e. you can get up to three (3) stamps from one business, but the other three (3) must be different participating businesses).
  • Remember that 6 different stamps will get you into the SPECIAL Grand Prize drawing for a basket filled with gifts from ALL participating businesses!
  • You get bonus stamps on Small Business Saturday weekend and Winterfest weekend.
  • Fill out your name, address and phone number on the passport card and drop in the box at City Hall for a chance to win your prize.
  • Passports MUST be submitted to City Hall by December 15, 2023, no later than 12 NOON.
  • Customers can start another passport page for more chances to win. You can fill out more than one page but only ONE prize per person. (This excludes the $25 weekly gift card.)
  • The drawings will be held on December 15, 2023 and awarded at the City Council meeting on December 18, 2023 at 7:30p.m. in the City Council Chambers.

 

  • NOTE;: You are NOT required to be present for the drawing, but we ask that you plan to attend the City Council meeting if you are a winner. The City Council meeting for the drawing will be at 7:30p.m. on December 18, 2023 in the City Council Chambers.

 

Prizes;:

First – $500 in Flat Rock dollars, – Second $250 in Flat Rock dollars, Third – $100 in Flat Rock Dollars.

New Weekly Gift Card Prizes

Each Friday during the Christmas Passport program, the Passports pages that have been turned into City Hall are eligible to win a gift card from a participating business.  The drawings will be conducted at 12 noon each Friday of the promotion.  The winners will be contacted to pick up their $25 gift prize at City Hall the following Monday. This does NOT affect your entry into the Shopping Spree or Grand Prize drawings!

NOTE: The Gift Card Must be picked up by December 23, 2023.

 

The Grand Prize is a Basket a gift from every participating business.

WELCOME TO FLAT ROCK

The first Euro-American settlers in Flat Rock were Michael Vreeland and his five grown sons between 1811 and 1820. Michael had been captured by British Rangers during the Revolutionary War and released after American independence.

The family purchased 800 acres (3.2 km2). The town was called the Village of Vreeland until 1838 when the Vreeland family sold off the majority of the land and relinquished control of the area. The Vreeland families built the first grain and lumber mill, having brought the grinding stones from New York.

Descendants of Michael Vreeland still live in the town and attend Flat Rock public schools, being the seventh generation to reside in the town their family founded.
