Mayor Dropiewski along with owners Sam and Moe Chami cut the Grand Opening Ribbon at their new location at 26988 Telegraph in the CVS Plaza at Vreeland Road. In addition to the mayor, Economic Development Director Liz Headley, Fire Chief Bill Vack, Building and Safety Director Bernie Ciupak, members of the Michigan Main Street Committee along with wait staff and cooks at Leo’s. Moe also stated that he will enjoy becoming a part of this Flat Rock Community. Sam and Moe also have a second Leo’s site in Belleville, Mi.

Come in and experience their Monday 99 cent Coney Breakfast special or their daily breakfast specials starting at $2.49. You can enjoy great meals for lunch and dinner. They are open 7 days a week. Monday through Saturday from 6 AM to 10 PM and Sunday from 7 AM to 9 PM.

WELCOME TO FLAT ROCK

The first Euro-American settlers in Flat Rock were Michael Vreeland and his five grown sons between 1811 and 1820. Michael had been captured by British Rangers during the Revolutionary War and released after American independence.

The family purchased 800 acres (3.2 km2). The town was called the Village of Vreeland until 1838 when the Vreeland family sold off the majority of the land and relinquished control of the area. The Vreeland families built the first grain and lumber mill, having brought the grinding stones from New York.

Descendants of Michael Vreeland still live in the town and attend Flat Rock public schools, being the seventh generation to reside in the town their family founded.
