Flat Rock, Our Hometown Easter Egg Hunt

Flat Rock, Our Hometown is Hosting is hosting its inaugural Easter Egg Hunt at City Park next to the Flat Rock City Hall.

The Easter Egg Hub is FREE and Open to the Public.

There will be  special photo tent for personal cell phone/camera photos with the Easter Bunny , 2 Bounce Houses, Balloon Artists, Face Painters, Hot Cocoa from Biggby Coffee & Cookies from S&J’s CupCakery.

***Parking will be available at the Flat Rock Public Library off of Aspen & Gibraltar Rd. and at the Flat Rock High School.  Participnts will walk to city park for the event.  City Hall Parking lot will be closed for this event to allow FRFD to stage the Fire Truck,

*** There will be 2 age categories with over 2000 plastic eggs filled with candy.

Ages 1-5 Playscape Hunt 

Ages 6-10 Marshmallow Drop Courtesy of The Flat Rock Fire Dept.

We Will Have “Golden Eggs” with special prizes

1pm – Welcoming including, rules, requests and sponsor recognition

1:20pm to 1:45pm 1-5yr olds Playscape Hunt

1:30pm to 1:45pm 6-10yr olds Marshmallow Drop

1:45 Begin exchanging Marsmallows for eggs/recycle egg containers

Then From 2p-4p Let the Excitment Continue…

Enjoy some Hot Cocoa & Cookies!

Photo time with the Easter Bunny!

Get in those Bounce Houses, get your face painted & have a Balloon Artist create something cool!

Entertainers end promptly at 4pm.

BUT Continue to play in our PlayScape for as long as you’d like!

Most Importantly… HAVE FUN!!!

The Skate warming building will be open for restroom facilities Please provide your child’s bag for the hunt/candy.

WELCOME TO FLAT ROCK

The first Euro-American settlers in Flat Rock were Michael Vreeland and his five grown sons between 1811 and 1820. Michael had been captured by British Rangers during the Revolutionary War and released after American independence.

The family purchased 800 acres (3.2 km2). The town was called the Village of Vreeland until 1838 when the Vreeland family sold off the majority of the land and relinquished control of the area. The Vreeland families built the first grain and lumber mill, having brought the grinding stones from New York.

Descendants of Michael Vreeland still live in the town and attend Flat Rock public schools, being the seventh generation to reside in the town their family founded.
