Diary QueenBeat the heat by treating yourself to a blizzard at Dairy Queen on 28918 Telegraph Rd. Take your delicious treat to Huroc Park to watch the ducks or walk the track. Dairy Queen offers many different types of blizzards, sundaes and more.
Dairy Queen is famous for their upside down blizzards. Chose from 22 different flavors, like chocolate chip cookie dough or banana split. In the mood for a brownie? Order the Oreo Earthquake Brownie which is an “Oreo® Brownie covered in DQ® soft serve, smothered in marshmallow topping, hot fudge, whipped topping, and sprinkled with crushed Oreo® cookies!”
If you are in the mood for something a bit more simple, order yourself a small ice cream in one of the three different flavored cones. Choose from a wafer cone, waffle cone or chocolate dipped waffle cone. Satisfy your need for chocolate with a chocolate soft serve ice cream cone dipped in chocolate in a chocolate dipped waffle cone.
Dairy Queen offers a more portable ice cream treat for taking to the park: milkshakes. They have over ten different flavors to choose from. All milkshakes can be made into malts for an even more delectable taste. Take your milkshake on the bridge and watch the fish jump.

The Flat Rock Dairy Queen is a great place to take the family on a hot summer day. If you aren’t in the mood to visit Huroc Park, Dairy Queen offers picnic tables for customers to sit down and eat. Dairy Queen is open from 11am to 10pm seven days a week. A reviewer on Yahoo said, “after long days of fishing, I love to walk to this Dairy Queen for a refreshing treat!!”

WELCOME TO FLAT ROCK

The first Euro-American settlers in Flat Rock were Michael Vreeland and his five grown sons between 1811 and 1820. Michael had been captured by British Rangers during the Revolutionary War and released after American independence.

The family purchased 800 acres (3.2 km2). The town was called the Village of Vreeland until 1838 when the Vreeland family sold off the majority of the land and relinquished control of the area. The Vreeland families built the first grain and lumber mill, having brought the grinding stones from New York.

Descendants of Michael Vreeland still live in the town and attend Flat Rock public schools, being the seventh generation to reside in the town their family founded.
