Seniors can learn how to aquacise from November 4th to December 19th. You can choose to come in from 10 to 11am on either Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays. Participants will receive a full body workout, based on moves that are designed specifically for the joint-sensitive individual. The water will help support you while the stretches and exercises will improve joint mobility and flexibility. The pool is accessible by both stairs and a zero depth entry for those who cannot use stairs. This class will cost $33 for a six week class per day for residents and $35 for non-residents.

For anyone over 16 years of age who has arthritis, why not join the Arthritis Aquacise Plus? This program is from the National Arthritis Foundation and works on balance, posture, breathing and strengthening exercises. This program will also consists of muscle strengthening and cardio-vascular endurance exercises. This class will run from November 5th to December 19th, on Tuesday and/or Thursday. It will cost $33 for a six week class per day for residents and $35 for non-residents.

WELCOME TO FLAT ROCK

The first Euro-American settlers in Flat Rock were Michael Vreeland and his five grown sons between 1811 and 1820. Michael had been captured by British Rangers during the Revolutionary War and released after American independence.

The family purchased 800 acres (3.2 km2). The town was called the Village of Vreeland until 1838 when the Vreeland family sold off the majority of the land and relinquished control of the area. The Vreeland families built the first grain and lumber mill, having brought the grinding stones from New York.

Descendants of Michael Vreeland still live in the town and attend Flat Rock public schools, being the seventh generation to reside in the town their family founded.
