The 2016 Flat Rock Riverfest sponsored by Meijer will be held on September 16-18th at the beautiful Huroc Park, along the Huron River in Flat Rock, Michigan.

This year’s performance lineup is stacked full of incredible bands, musicians and entertainers. As always, ALL CONCERTS ARE FREE AT RIVERFEST!

We are thrilled to announce North American Midway Entertainment will be providing rides for all ages at the 2016 Flat Rock Riverfest!

In addition to amusement rides, there will be big time wrestling, a petting zoo, pony rides, karate demonstrations, children’s tent, live music throughout the day and more!

Yoga in the Park

Join Melissa from the Flat Rock Community Center for a FREE yoga class at Riverfest on Sunday, September 18th! The class will take place just before the festival opens, from 10:30am -11:30am! All abilities are welcome! No pre-registration required!

Paint and Pour Art Class

We are excited to announce the first ever PAINT & POUR class at Riverfest! Craft and Chill Painting Parties welcomes artists of all levels to this fun event! The painting lesson will take place on Sunday, September 18th beginning promptly at 12 pm and ending at 2pm. All materials will be provided. We will have aprons to protect your clothing, but we always recommend bringing an old t-shirt that you aren’t too attached to, as art can sometimes be messy!

Pre-registration is required. This event will sell out!

Parking

We offer a convenient FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE during all festival hours. Park your vehicle at the Flat Rock Plaza on Telegraph Road and hop on the FREE SHUTTLES to get to and from the festival. Shuttles will run at least every 15 minutes. There are also limited parking spaces near the Huroc Park entrance for a fee.

WELCOME TO FLAT ROCK

The first Euro-American settlers in Flat Rock were Michael Vreeland and his five grown sons between 1811 and 1820. Michael had been captured by British Rangers during the Revolutionary War and released after American independence.

The family purchased 800 acres (3.2 km2). The town was called the Village of Vreeland until 1838 when the Vreeland family sold off the majority of the land and relinquished control of the area. The Vreeland families built the first grain and lumber mill, having brought the grinding stones from New York.

Descendants of Michael Vreeland still live in the town and attend Flat Rock public schools, being the seventh generation to reside in the town their family founded.
