The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and the Flat Rock Community Foundation announce the 2015 Riverfest is scheduled for September 18-20 with a lot of things you have been expecting and along with some new items. Keep monitoring downtownflatrock.com for the latest. Below is this years Music and Activities Lineups.

 

 

MUSIC at RIVERFEST

Friday September 18, 2015

4:00pm-5:30pm Two Timin’ Band

6:00pm to 7:00pm Trilogy

8:00pm to 10:00pm Mega 80’s

Saturday September 19, 2015

11:00am to 12:30pm The Roosters

1:00pm to 2:30pm Doesn’t Matter Band

3:00pm to 5:00pm Toppermost Beatles Tribute

5:00pm to 6:30pm Mitch Ryder set up and sound

6:30pm to 7:15pm Bluesz Brothersz (Tribute to the Blues Brothers)

7:30pm to 9:00pm Three Men and a Tenor

9:30pm to 11pm Mitch Ryder

1:00pm to 2:00pm Bob and Carl

2:30pm to 4:00pm War Machine

4:30pm to 6:00pm Captured Detroit (The Music of Journey)

 

Other Activities Scheduled

Friday – Shuttle runs from 3PM-11:30PM (after Fireworks)

Detroit Pistons Mascot – HOOPER will be on site from 4-8PM

Food, Artisans and Beer Tent Open from 4-10:30 PM after the FIREWORKS

Saturday – Shuttle runs from 11AM-11:30PM

Kids Corner with games and activities for the entire family from Noon to 6 PM

Kids Stage Area Tom Plunkard from 1-2 PM and 4-5 PM plus MAD SCIENCE from 2:30 to 4 PM

Kids Workshop by Lowes 11AM-6PM

Court Area – Juggling and Wrestling

Flat Rock Firefighters area 11AM-9PM

Food, Artisans and Beer Tent Open from Noon to 11PM

WELCOME TO FLAT ROCK

The first Euro-American settlers in Flat Rock were Michael Vreeland and his five grown sons between 1811 and 1820. Michael had been captured by British Rangers during the Revolutionary War and released after American independence.

The family purchased 800 acres (3.2 km2). The town was called the Village of Vreeland until 1838 when the Vreeland family sold off the majority of the land and relinquished control of the area. The Vreeland families built the first grain and lumber mill, having brought the grinding stones from New York.

Descendants of Michael Vreeland still live in the town and attend Flat Rock public schools, being the seventh generation to reside in the town their family founded.
